Sealed
An egg is one of a thousand, eight per wallet. The account holds a zero seed: the animal does not exist yet. An hour later you crack it, and the seed is fixed then from a slot hash: one of thirty species, an element, four stats. That is why the reveal is a reveal.
Fighting
There is no feeding. A win is ten experience, a loss three. Thirty makes a teen, a hundred an adult, and each stage multiplies all four stats. Growing up is also the only free heal in the game.
Dying
Damage stays on a creature and comes back at one hit point every two minutes. Knocked to zero from half health or better, it is carried out on one. Knocked to zero after going in wounded, it is gone. Adults cannot be killed.
The pot
A posted fight stands for an hour at most. While it stands, anyone can put money on the posted beast or on whoever answers it. When it settles, the side that was right splits the side that was wrong, less the house cut. Pull the fight back and everybody gets their money returned.
The price
The first egg is the cheapest one there will ever be. Every egg sold raises the price of the next by a fixed step, written on the colony account, so what it costs is arithmetic anyone can check rather than a number somebody announces.
Breeding
Two adults make an egg. Each of the eight genes is a coin flip between them, and about one in twelve mutates into something neither parent had. Both rest three days, and neither raises more than five.
